Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 7, 2026 · Last updated: October 7, 2026

The short version

1. Who we are

This website and the MIYO Mouse waitlist are operated by Modular Technologies LLC, a California limited liability company (“Modular,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). Modular is the company developing the MIYO Mouse, a modular computer mouse. For purposes of applicable privacy laws, Modular is the business (or “controller”) responsible for the personal information described in this policy.

2. What this policy covers

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect personal information when you visit this website, join the MIYO Mouse waitlist, or receive emails from us (together, the “Services”). It does not cover third-party websites or services you reach through links on our site, such as social media platforms, which have their own privacy policies.

By using the Services, you acknowledge that you have read this policy. If you do not agree with it, please do not submit your information.

3. Information we collect

Information you give us

When you join the waitlist, we collect:

If you email us, we also receive your message, your email address, and anything else you choose to include.

Information collected automatically

When you submit the signup form, we record a small amount of information about the signup itself:

We use this information only in aggregate, for example to understand which channels people find us through.

Information processed by our service providers

Like nearly every website, our hosting, database, font, and email providers automatically receive certain technical information when your browser or email app connects to them, such as your IP address, browser type, and the date and time of the request. They use it to deliver and secure their services, and it may appear in their standard server logs. We do not combine this information with your waitlist entry or use it to build a profile of you.

Categories of personal information

Using the categories defined in California law, in the past 12 months we have collected:

We do not ask for, and ask that you do not send us, any sensitive personal information.

4. Cookies, tracking, and Do Not Track

Our waitlist page does not set cookies and does not use analytics, advertising, or social media tracking tools such as tracking pixels. We do not track you across other websites or over time.

Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts. When your browser requests these fonts, Google receives your IP address and browser information. Google's use of that information is described in the Google Privacy Policy.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” or Global Privacy Control signal. Because we do not engage in cross-site tracking, targeted advertising, or the sale or sharing of personal information, there is nothing for these signals to switch off on our site. If we ever change our practices, we will honor Global Privacy Control as a valid request to opt out of sale and sharing, as California law requires.

Our confirmation and update emails do not contain tracking pixels. Like most email, images in them are loaded from our web server when you open the message, which means our hosting provider receives the standard technical information described above.

5. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

We do not use your information for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects, and we do not use it to train artificial intelligence models.

If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another region that requires a legal basis for processing, we rely on:

7. How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We have not done so in the past 12 months.

We share personal information only with the service providers that help us run the Services. They are permitted to use it only to perform services for us:

Supabase Inc.Secure database that stores the waitlistEmail address, first name, referral source, device type, signup time
Resend (Plus Five Five, Inc.)Sending confirmation and update emailsEmail address, first name, email content
Google LLCWeb fontsTechnical information such as IP address and browser type

If we start using a different provider, such as an email newsletter service for launch updates, we will share only the information that provider needs and will update this policy.

We may also disclose information:

8. Our emails and how to unsubscribe

After you join, we send a one-time confirmation email. After that, we will email you only about the MIYO Mouse and Modular, and not more often than is useful.

Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link. You can also unsubscribe by emailing modularfounder@gmail.com. We process unsubscribe requests promptly, and in any case within 10 business days. Unsubscribing removes you from future marketing emails; we may keep a record of your email address to make sure we honor your request.

9. How long we keep your information

We keep waitlist information for as long as the waitlist and the MIYO Mouse launch are active, and for up to 24 months after launch so we can send relevant follow-up updates, unless you ask us to delete it sooner. If you unsubscribe, we keep only what we need to honor that request. When information is no longer needed, we delete it or make it anonymous. Copies may remain in our providers' backups for a limited period before they are overwritten.

10. How we protect your information

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the small amount of information we hold. Information is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and stored with providers that encrypt data at rest. Our signup form can only add entries; it cannot read the list. Access to the list is limited to Modular's founders.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a security incident affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by law.

11. Your rights and choices

No matter where you live, you can ask us to:

We will not treat you differently for exercising any of these rights. See How to make a request below.

12. Additional information for California residents

This section supplements the rest of this policy and applies to California residents. It reflects the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (together, the “CCPA”), the California Online Privacy Protection Act (“CalOPPA”), and California's “Shine the Light” law. Some of these laws apply only to businesses that meet certain size thresholds. We extend these rights to California residents regardless.

Your California privacy rights

Disclosures for the past 12 months

The categories of personal information we collected, and their sources, are listed in Section 3. Our business purposes are listed in Section 5. We disclosed identifiers and internet activity information to the service providers listed in Section 7 for business purposes. We did not sell or share personal information, and we have no actual knowledge of selling or sharing the personal information of consumers under 16.

Shine the Light

California Civil Code Section 1798.83 lets California residents request information about personal information disclosed to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes. We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes.

Reviewing and changing your information (CalOPPA)

You can review or change the information you submitted to the waitlist at any time by emailing us at the address in Section 18.

13. Residents of other U.S. states and outside the U.S.

Residents of states with comprehensive privacy laws, including Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas, Oregon, and others, may have rights similar to those described above, including the rights to access, correct, delete, and obtain a copy of their personal information, and to opt out of targeted advertising, sale, and certain profiling. We do not engage in targeted advertising, sale, or profiling. If we deny a request, you may appeal by replying to our decision with the subject line “Appeal,” and we will respond within the time the law requires.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you also have the rights to restrict or object to our processing, to data portability, to withdraw consent at any time, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

14. How to make a request

To exercise any of your rights, email modularfounder@gmail.com with the subject line “Privacy Request” and tell us what you would like us to do. You can also write to us at the mailing address in Section 18.

15. Children's privacy

The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has given us information, please contact us and we will delete it. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16.

16. Where your information is stored

Modular is based in the United States, and your information is stored and processed in the United States. If you access the Services from outside the U.S., your information will be transferred to the U.S., where data protection laws may differ from those in your country. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for these transfers, such as our providers' standard contractual clauses.

17. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our Services change, for example when the MIYO Mouse launches and we begin taking orders. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top. If we make material changes, such as using your information in a significantly different way, we will notify you by email or with a notice on this site before the change takes effect.
